The Wisdom Tooth Process
Removing wisdom teeth occurs in one of two ways. We will either remove these molars “simply” if they have partially erupted through the gums, or we will take a surgical approach to remove those impacted and beneath the gumline.
Dr. Zirker is skilled in performing this type of procedure while a patient is sedated, as the more complex solution requires opening the gums, exposing the bone and underlying tooth, and carefully removing it. This is usually done by sectioning the tooth to minimize the size of the incision.
