Children’s Dental Checkups & Cleanings
Early detection of tooth decay, cavities, and poor bite alignment can give your child’s smile a better chance of long-term optimal health. With regular dental checkups and cleanings, we can start this process and keep their teeth, gums, and bite on the right track. By closely examining your child’s oral health and developing jaw and bone structure, we can recommend early treatment to minimize the need for more complex restorative care later.
Dental Sealants
Proper brushing can be difficult for young children who are still learning how to care for their smile. With dental sealants, however, their molars and premolars (which are often the hardest to reach) can remain protected against food debris and bacteria. We’ll apply the clear coating over the surfaces of these teeth, creating a barrier that can last up to a decade with proper care.
Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards
Avid athletes never want to miss a game or important play, so to ensure your child or teenager gets as much time on the field, court, or track, we can provide them with a custom athletic mouthguard. Regardless of the sport, having your child wear one of these appliances can give them (and you) greater peace of mind, knowing the risk of an emergency dental visit remains low. We’ll customize the appliance so it remains comfortable in their mouth throughout the game.
Silver Diamine Fluoride
Our goal may be to prevent cavities from the start, but if one forms, we can protect your child’s smile with silver diamine fluoride (SDF). Conservative in its approach, we can apply the solution to the lesion so that the silver will instantly halt the spread of decay and kill any remaining bacteria. Fluoride will help remineralize existing tooth enamel while preventing future decay, giving your child’s smile the protection it needs.
Lip & Tongue-Tie Treatment
By releasing overly thick or short tissues behind the upper lip and/or underneath the tongue, your baby, child, or teenager will no longer struggle to nurse, eat, speak, or breathe. Instead, they will enjoy greater oral mobility and ultimately, a better quality of life.
